The Assistant Commissioner for Mechanical Engineering Services Inspection of the Ministry of Works and Transport, Eng. Winfred Naluyinda has emphasised safety, professionalism, and continuous skills development among road construction equipment operators.
Speaking at the passing -out ceremony of the first cohort of simulator -trained heavy equipment operators at Mechanical Engineering Training and Advisory Centre (METRAC) Luwero on Friday Eng Naluyinda said the world is embracing technology to improve efficiency and safety .
Speaking at the passing -out ceremony of the first cohort of simulator -trained heavy equipment operators at Mechanical Engineering Training and Advisory Centre (METRAC) Luwero on 19 June 2026, Eng Naluyinda said the world is embracing technology to improve efficiency and safety .
The three-week pilot simulator training programme at METRAC in Luwero, Eng. Naluyinda commended participants for their commitment and noted that the skills gained will improve infrastructure delivery and national development.
Facilitated by Eng. Ivan Watta the acting Principal METRAC, the training that started from 28 May to 19 June 2026, equipped operators with simulator-based skills in handling excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, and wheel loaders, among others focusing on safety and efficiency. Each trainee was awarded a certificate of completion.
Present at the closing ceremony was the area local chairperson of Kakinzi village Julius Senkusu, the sub county chairperson Mulaani Mukiibi and the Luwero district chairperson Erasto Kibirango.
